It was great to see many supporters of Boo at a recent update evening, held at the Kings Arms Hotel in Christchurch. The evening was an opportunity to report on last year’s activities and also to look forward to some of the events and activities planned for 2016.
During the evening, Boo founder Russell Hicks spoke about how the Charity had come about, and his vision for how Boo can help many more disadvantaged children in Kenya and potentially in other countries. Simon White, a fellow trustee, then gave everyone an update on the projects being supported by Boo in Kenya, and revealed some of the planned fund-raising activities for the coming year.
The evening concluded with an insight from one of Boo’s supporters Mark Northey, who had traveled to Kenya for the first time last year. Mark revealed what a lasting impression the visit had had on him, and how amazed he had been to see the difference Boo could make with a relatively small amount of money.
One of the most critical aspects of the coming year for Boo is to encourage a few more supporters to lend a hand in organising or helping with events and activities. If you can spare a little time, please contact any of the trustees via Facebook or the website.
